The Fluffy One galloped across the lawn when he saw us return from our kayak ride. He was patiently overseeing the grilling of our Chicken Fajita. He wagged in anticipation and tried to tell me it was ready. I debarked, frozen and chilled from the chilly evening.
As I walked to the grill, he transported himself back to our Obedience school days. He went into a perfect heel position and stared into my eyes. I grabbed the tasty treat from the grill and began preparing the wrap. He was eager and sighed frequently to urge me to hurry. Finally, it was done, and back to the fire we went. He held his perfect form at my left side and matched my stride and locked eyes.
I sat on the fire side hammock and he sat and licked his chops at a rate of once per minute. As I lifted the Fajita, I gave in…I had waaay to much broccoli. I presented him with a piece, then another…he was game for it all.
In the past he’s eaten apples and tomatoes but broccoli was a first! Please don’t tell the 10 yr old shadow this!
