We found a home for all the Polish!  We have 14 more new on order and of those 6 have already found a home! 

I needed to order more chicks for our 10 yr old, who was protesting giving up his dear Polish that he called, Bumblebee (and Baby, when nobody was listening).  Suddenly, I was sweating bullets when I called the hatchery that told me that I had to order 15…  I needed to replace the chicks we were giving away…wow, 15 was a lot!  I felt the spirit pushing me past my comfort level.  I dived in, begged the guy to let me order only 4. I asked, can I pay for 15 and order 4? He replied no. Finally, he compromised with an order of 14! I was somehow beaming with my smart order of Brown and multi color egg layers that gave 240+ eggs a year, but apprehensive.  I was driven…this is what I do for a living, make stuff happen.   Immediately I got on the horn and texted the families that liked the free Chicks in the past.  I asked,  “can you take 6 fabulous week old chicks?” I misjudged  my audience…Silly me, they all wanted them!

Interestingly, my buddy’s Chicken crazed 4-H kid discovered he had 3 Roosters and they had to go.  He was super excited to get productive egg replacements. 

Wow!  What a neat thing to help this little boy that was morning the loss of 3 that were roos and that he couldn’t keep. 

Sometimes, it’s really hard to listen to your HG, but so rewarding when you find that it connects you to the needs of others.
