I couldn’t believe it! We had more than 1 strawberry in our non-green thumb strawberry patch.
I dusted off a few and let them air dry as they ripened. By late evening they were ready to eat.

I don’t know why, but my first thoughts were to the baby 3 week old Polish chicks…they must want a fresh strawberry, right?
I put the most appealing one in their brooder and waited, and waited, and waited… they were terrified!

I watched them evaluate the demon strawberry…they inched only necks and eye balls not bodies closer. After 15 minutes, my patience was gone.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer seemed to ask, “why don’t you eat it?”
I moved the strawberry to their feeder and went to bed. They probably needed to think about it over a nap.
