World Masters Time (WMA) for Track = Submitted!

I just Submitted an 800m and 1500m time for the virtual World Master’s Track Meet, 40 year old Women’s division!

Really, I didn’t race. I used training times due to my conservative nature. We are in the midst of a Pandemic, so naturally I pleeded with the Hubby to create beds on our beautiful manicured lawn to feed our communities. He said make it look organized and I planted a garden to feed my neighbors and stopped running for 3 weeks to get it going.

After it was in, I felt the drive to run again. It was tricky to stop and start but I was careful and decided to go for mileage, endurance and skip speed. There were easy and hard days but within a month the mileage was back but missed intensity. I didn’t do any sprinting, my favorite, but most risky endeavor. If you are familiar with running, you know speed equates to risky business.

More than anything, I wanted to show my family and friends how to be strong at 44 yrs old. Overall, it wasn’t worth the risk and I was a little sad because 1) I trained for 8 months, 2) Was fit… touted 60’s for VO2Max, 3) Lost 30, yes 30 pounds in 2020!

I still needed to submit times for the World Masters Challenge. My husband and I scoured my training runs in the span of the race eligible calendar. Whamo, there they were, a quick 800 and 1500m set of times.

How cute? I wanted to end the run to do a work meeting and went into Flintstone Speeds. It was all on the Garmin. Wahoo! Yes, a 3:01 in the 800m and a 2:49 in the 1500m.

We submitted them to the World Masters Rankings and the 1500m was an All American Time!

Yep, we were tickled!

In the midst of a Pandemic, I hit an All American Time in the Work out!

We need to credit out trainer, Matt, from, Run Better Academy, for the incredible training plans. He’s a flexible Coach with the goal to help you reach your potential.

I also salute my amazing hubby that is the rock and my Sister and friends that are so supportive. To recharge and hit peak fitness in the Pandemic truly results from a team.

I am thankful to my Atlanta Track team that helped this 44 yr old hit an All American 1500m time in this crazy Pandemic. I feel blessed…

Feeding our communities is so neat! I hope that we can share our passion to take care of each other! We looked forward to the fall harvest!
